RUF and CDF meetings

Hope-Sierra Leone has facilitated workshops on reconciliation and non-violent communication between ground commanders and senior officials from both RUFP and CDF in Bo and Makeni in December 2002.

One UN military observer commented: “I have been in Sierra Leone for 12 months and have never experienced such a historic event. You have succeeded in bringing the RUF and the CDF together to reconcile for the first time after the end of the war. We are very happy for this historic event and we’ll send a report to our mission Headquarters in Freetown and New York.”

A symbolic tree planting ceremony was conducted in both towns.
