Training objectives of MFD

  • to develop and strengthen the understanding of commonly held values that underlie a free and democratic society, and on which individual ability and willingness to participate in mainstream rebuilding of society can be based.
  • to help participants discuss and understand the root causes of past problems in a spirit of tolerance and reconciliation.
  • to enhance a process of building a social network of trust among participants, in order to break down long standing social barriers and build bridges between polarised groups.
  • to strengthen the commitment of individual participants as creators of peace and leaders of change in today’s society by helping them to develop: a) the moral insight and transformational skills to be agents for reconciliation and conflict resolution; b) a sense of purpose and human respect to meet the demands of a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural society; c) the conviction and strength of character to stand against corruption in a poverty-stricken country.
